The last time I dropped some heat from Marseille it was IAM and the Funky Family crew that tore up French hip-hop. Now the funk has evolved to the dancefloor and the latest crook is Facteur. Only could I have come across his shit while travelling across continents of blogs and unknown parts of the beat dimension. His Marseille based label Data Airlines is one to keep an eye out for - with artists like Dubmood reppin' the south of France and Sodamnloud! out of Sweden. Get all over these tracks.

It has come to my attention that clubs have their beat game all wrong. Every big club with famous girls and bottle service keep playing the same soul-less house beats with played out diva vocals and cheesy build-ups. Parties need to be shanked with soul pumped bangers and burned with the disco heat that people like me are talking about.

Luckily there is hope - and the legacies of parisian dancefloor serial-killers remain very much alive. If you've heard of him already, you have probably been intringued. Mr. Oizo, a member of the Ed Banger contigent, has a mixed reputation amongst listeners yet certainly has distinguished himself from an extendend cast of talent from the French capital.

His latest album "Lambs Anger" is an aggressive collection of electronic anarchy. It sieges war on the conventions of any soft electro pop and attacks parts of the brain that make you want to engage in mean and unexplainable dancing. Enjoy 3 of these brand new tracks thanks to UBC

TEENAGE BAD GIRL

Where to begin. I am adamant that the dopest shit around can only be from France. I am even more adamant that electro royalty can only be from Paris. The Parisian duo Teenage Bad Girl (pictured above) brings some of the meanest gut-wretching beats you will ever hear. Their style is unique, gritty and irresistable. It is as if they possess some magic beat-making powers; the nature of their chopped up samples and fidgety funk patterns is heard very seldomly from anyone outside of the gates of the parisian monarchy of funk.

PHONAT

It is only appropriate that I kick off this odyssey of beat sharing with one of the tracks that turned me over to the world of bangin electro funk. Over a year ago, my cousin came to me with 10 CD mixes of the hypest shit I've ever heard being played off a compact disk. At first I was confused - not over the sound - but how every club ive ever been to has never played anything remotely similar to what I was starting to listen to.

I therefore begin with Phonat - a British cat from London who only has 19,500 hits on his myspace. Mind blowing for someone who can create ear-gauging bangers that have so much funk and soul that it will have girls flashing their titties on the dancefloor.

The classic remix and certified banger 'Fire' is a must. The bass and drums are brilliant - and when the chorus hits - look out for titties. Also check out these others - which I can call exclusive.
